HI, I’M LINDSEY SIMMONS!
I'm a recruiting consultant and career coach. I help startups build teams that actually work, and I help shes, gays, and theys stop shrinking themselves in interviews, negotiations, and rooms where they deserve to take up space.
You might be wondering… who’s Linda?
Back when I was waiting tables in my early 20s, a customer left a note on their bill that said, "Linda was great!" My boss, confused, asked, "Who's Linda?" Without missing a beat, I said, "That's me!" From then on, my alter ego was born. Linda is the fun one, the hype woman, the one who lights up a room with her Shenandoah Valley accent and excitable high-pitched tone. Over the years, I realized Lindsey and Linda are the same person, and when "Linda in HR" came to life, it was the perfect way to merge my passion for people with my natural energy for connection.
Connecting you to your company’s next leaders
Over the past decade, I've filled 400+ roles, from individual contributors to the C-suite, for everyone from three-person startups to global enterprises. I've seen what breaks a hiring process and what makes candidates actually want to work for you. I build interviews around what someone can actually do, not vibes, not who went to the "right" school, not who reminds the hiring manager of themselves.
As a Recruiting Consultant, I'm the person startups call when their hiring process is a mess and they know it. I build the interview process, advise on people strategy, and help leadership actually attract and keep underrepresented talent instead of just saying they want to. Think of me as your HR sounding board who also does the work: strategy and execution, not just a deck.
As a Career Coach, I help people stop taking whatever they're offered and start asking for what they actually want. We figure out your "why," what you're actually good at, and just as important, what you're done tolerating. Clarity first, then strategy. From resumes and interviews to personal branding, networking, and salary negotiations, I help clients go from one of many applicants to the one they hire. My clients have landed the job and negotiated tens of thousands in compensation, because it's never too late to ask for more or walk into work that actually fits you.
Consider me your professional hype woman, rooting for you every step of the way.
A Bit About Me
Beyond work: LGBTQIA+ rights, reproductive healthcare, and sexual health education aren't side interests for me, they're things I actually show up for. I volunteer with Gay Men's Health Crisis, I do Reiki, and I do stand-up comedy, which means I've bombed on stage in front of strangers plenty of times and lived to tell about it. When I'm not doing any of that, I'm outside: paddle boarding, fly fishing, or hunting with my dog, Wendell.
Oliver Wendell Douglas, GSP-EO
My boss, my alarm clock, the actual head of this household. Wendell's a city dog with a country soul: nosy, a little feral, and always down for whatever's next.
Find your why. Fuel your future.
It's time to stop shrinking yourself to fit in a room. I'll help you see what you actually bring to the table, play to your strengths, and say it out loud without flinching. Together, we'll shut up the voice telling you to stay small, and get you back in the driver's seat.
